N30 Pharma Announces Successful Initiation of Human Studies With N30-201
BOULDER, Colo., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ --

N30 Pharma (N30), a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of respiratory drugs that target endogenous s-nitrosothiols, announced today that it has successfully completed Phase 1 study of N30-201 in healthy volunteers.

N30 intends to develop N30-201 for the treatment of reactive and obstructive airway diseases, including Cystic Fibrosis and asthma.

"We are pleased to have begun and completed the first set of human studies of N30-201. We believe that N30-201 could be an important therapy for the treatment of many respiratory diseases. The primary endpoint of the study was patient safety and characterization of adverse events, but the company collected pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data of ascending doses of N30-201.

N30-201 is a proprietary nebulized formulation of s-nitrosoglutathione (GSNO), an endogenous bronchodilatory molecule that serves as a crucial store of nitric oxide (NO) bioactivity in the human airway.

N30 Pharma Announces License Agreement With NitroMed, Inc.

N30 Pharma (N30), a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of respiratory drugs that target endogenous s-nitrosothiols, today announced a licensing agreement with NitroMed Inc. (Nasdaq: NTMD) covering the respiratory use of a s-nitrosothiol drug candidate. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

N30 Pharma is developing s-nitrosothiol therapies for critical unmet needs in important respiratory diseases such as cystic fibrosis (CF), asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

S-nitrosothiols are endogenous molecules that store and transduce nitric oxide, and are critical modulators of airway and vascular smooth muscle tone, as well as having other effects.
